Week #8 Online Applications & Tools

I'm so glad I finally got to this week's activities. These online applications are incredible. I think I have bookmarked almost all of them for future use. The Google Docs & Spreadsheets is an obvious favourite. Have used this in the past when in a pinch for these programs. Snipshot seems pretty good. I've been using Fireworks for years (and a bit of Photoshop). This is fairly basic in comparison but would think it would come in handy. The flickr Toys is a great one...can't wait to try the Warholizer with some photos from home. And I had just had to add LibraryThing to my links.

Blogging a great experience

Since starting 2.0 and blogging I've mentioned to a few people what a great resource it can be. So much for opening my mouth...I'm now in the middle of creating blogs for two non-profit organizations. The first is now up and running (and a work still in progress) for the Dundas District Innovation Group. The second is for a great local nursury school that runs as a co-op and will hopefully be up within the next few weeks. Can't believe how easy it is to create and what fun (I have to admit).

FLICKR!!

Week#5 Tagging & Bookmarking

FLICKR is an amazing resource!! I LOVE this site! You could literally spend hours surfing! I chose to upload some photos instead of adding links to them...

FILM NOIR Articles & Essays

Week#5: Tagging & Social Bookmarking. I'm enjoying the 1st Activity since you are searching del.icio.us and Google on subjects that are of interest to you. My choice was Film Noir since I'm a HUGE fan! I have to say that the results were very different. Google's first page were articles and essays pertaining to the subject while del.icio.us provided primarily lists. This would be of interest if I were searching for my favourite movie poster or what someone else thinks are the "TOP 10 Films of ALL Time" but I found I was much more interested in the items from Google (on this subject anyway).
I would have to say one result I didn't expect was "DVDBeaver - The Femme Fatales of Film Noir" on del.icio.us. That could be interesting.

Top 5 Favourite Books When You're 5!!

Week #4: Wikis
Well I think I finally got my wiki complete....check out the link above. It's true, the new page was easy to create but linking it to the sidebar was a task. Onwards and upwards!!

Week #3: RSS Took me longer than I thought it would. It was easy enough to subscribe to different sites and that was kinda cool but I'm hung up on trying to figure out how to get an icon on my site for users to click and subscribe to my blog...yeah, like you'd want to!! But hey, it's all part of the learning process. Will persevere and see what other little goodies are coming up for Week #4.
